Humans are not the only race in the world. Pick one of the following races for your character. They have different advantages and disadvantages.

Common Race: Available to everyone.

Restricted Race: The ref decides whether you can have access to this race - but don’t hesitate to ask.

Humans(Common Race)

Body Points: 3
Special Abilities: None
Countries of Origin: Brindle, Chevel, Equil, Helvettia, Kahzara, O’Talag, Pillai

Elves(Common Race)

Body Points: 2
Special Abilities: Innate Magic(You may cast 1 spell a day from the Arcane General Spell List) You cannot cast a spell Ranked greater than your character’s Level.
Countries of Origin: Dalcimeer, Nadarr
Other: You are required to wear prosthetic pointed ears when playing an elf - this is not optional.

Dwarves (Restricted Race)

Body Points: 4
Special Abilities: Magic Resistance (You resist Magical effects 1 Rank higher than your character Level)
Countries of Origin: Nomadic
Other: Dwarves have no established homeland in the Tempress world and all dwarves encountered so far have been nomadic wanderers. For this reason, dwarves are considered a restricted race.

Orcs (Restricted Race)

Body Points: 4
Special Abilities: Magic Resistance (You resist Magical effects 1 Rank higher than your character Level)
Countries of Origin: The Wildlands
Other: Traditionally a violent race, the orcs have long been the antagonists of the civilised lands. Orcs are likely to be shunned or hated by humans and elves, encountering difficulties travelling in the civilised lands. You are required to wear the appropriate mask/prosthetics and costumes to enact this character.

Beastkin(Restricted Race)

Body Points: 3
Special Abilities:Varied (Speak to a referee)
Countries of Origin: Unknown
Other: Beastkin are not natural beings - they were made, most recently by the blood mage, but there are talks of beastkin long before the priest/mage war. They are rare and will have story elements to their backgrounds.

Can I be...?

There are certain races that are none-playable. Within our setting they are considered to be too evil or too violent to be players. If you character turns into one of these, they will become a Monster character and you will lose control of them.
Banned player races include: Demons, undead, werewolves, vampires and many others
